Andrews will use a patella graft from Griffin's left knee to repair the tear. Since Griffin's ACL had already had been operated on, Popovitz said the procedure is more complicated because surgeons have to either widen the original hole in the femur bone where the original surgery took place, or re-position the hole to a new area, which makes things more difficult because they are working with only centimeters of space.
And that's just for ACL surgery. An LCL procedure is more complex than a first-time ACL repair, according to Popovitz, because the ligament resides near nerves and blood vessels that a surgeon has to worry about. Similar to the ACL, an LCL repair or reconstruction would consist of either sewing up the ligament, or harvesting tissue from another part of the body or a cadaver. Andrews, he's still in the realm of possibility of returning to the NFL at a same high level.
Unfortunately chances are smaller than a virgin ACL [injury]. The recovery for these surgeries can overlap, he said, so for the most, he would tell patients they could resume full activity after six to nine months. Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson made an impressive return this season about eight months after tearing an ACL, even leading the league in rushing yards.
But Popovitz, who previously served as a team surgeon for the U. Open Tennis Championships, said many people don't regain full strength or confidence in their knee that fast, and Peterson likely came back with such success because he was so motivated and hard working for his rehabilitation. Never to be forgotten. What a disaster. This is the same guy that cheated on his pregnant wife and left her and the baby for another woman. Especially if it leads to permanent change. Obvious as rookies?
Where do you guys get this stuff from?? I need another football board to go to. You guys are killing me with this nonsense. That qualifies as NYT best seller these days. But most fans could see he was going to hurt himself. He looked awkward spinning around, and he admitted to faking back inside to draw the roughing penalties. Him going back in, was partly on him. All in for week one, was all on him. His father limiting the playbook was on his father.
Despite all this, and the fact that he couldnt read defenses or find open guys after the first season…. Dan stuck by him. Dan forced the Shanahans to play him, and when they wouldnt do it anymore, he fired them and hired Jay Gruden. Seems like this is his way of grabbing a few extra bucks.
Bob is a narcissist. He destroyed his own career in DC. Then looked terrible everywhere thereafter. Good luck with that. Very weak, tattletale.
Blah blah blah. Man up. That will teach them for using all those draft picks and giving you millions and millions of dollars thinking you would be worth it! That makes this a money grab and it makes him a hypocrite. Mismanagement or not, RG3 was a ticking time bomb for injury. He never learned how to slide or protect himself from the big hits. Everytime someone is a runner, they automatically can read defenses. There is a lot more to a QB than just reading defenses.
The medical staff for Washington is suspect,,,ask Trent Williams 2. If he would have just learned how to slide he never would have suffer that ugly hit against the Ravens 3. He may have wanted to play, but that responsibility falls on the Shanahan and the coaching staff, not the player. He was being pampered by Dan Snyder, being flown around on his private jet. RGIII also pouted a lot, refused to listen to coaches and adapt his reckless style of play.
His teammates also were much more supportive of Kirk Cousins. I mean two months ago he was willing to play for this same franchise he is trashing? You must be logged in to leave a comment. Not a member? Register now! This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.

Rooting for you RG3 wipes! He should get Gruden to write the forward or a caption on the back of the book. Washington clung to their one-point advantage, despite failing to mount any offensive threats, with Griffin limping and under pressure.
A brilliant, yard touchdown run by Lynch finally put the Seahawks ahead and tight end Zach Miller caught a Wilson pass in the end zone for a two-point conversion to make it Facing a second-and close to his own end zone, Griffin could not handle a poor snap and Seattle recovered on the five-yard line.
The Redskins' quarterback limped off the field not to return. Seattle could not punch it in, but settled for a yard field goal that put the game out of reach at Griffin's withdrawal came too late for backup Kirk Cousins to get Washington back into the game.
