Cheap plastic creates mold and bacteria much faster than other brands. The inside cylinder tube's plastic connectors are very hard to get clean. I tried soaking it, qtips, but couldn't get it clean.
Threw away after a few weeks. We ran the tank out nightly and refilled constantly, the part that grossed me out was all the mold floaters UNDER the tank upon refill. Did you? I used it for 3 weeks and then followed the instructions in the manual for storing the unit. This week, I got the unit out to use and for the first evening, it worked fine, however, on the second evening, it leaked water. The water appeared to be coming from the front of the unit near the mist output control dial.
By the time I discovered the leak the following morning, an excessive amount of water had leaked out all over my nightstand and spilled onto the floor. Apparently from reading all of the negative reviews, this is a common problem with this particular model. How disappointing that Safety 1st continues to sell this obviously known defective and dangerous product.
